![]() I don't think the full set of claims is necessary, but what would I add? Another Gnaw? Another Darkblast? Some card I haven't thought of? So, where I need the most help I think is the sideboard. The only matchup I was able to get a real feel for was Infect, and the match up feels good unless certain conditions are met.Ī) You whiff on every dredge and don't have any blockers by turn 2/3, B) they have blighted agent and you have no removal, or C) you keep the slowest hand imaginable. This was just a stomp fest both games with nut dredges that had 11+ power on board turn two. I dredged 0 cards that game, and everything I drew off the top of my deck was perfect. Turn 4: Attack for 6, lightning axe his agent. Golgari Charm to kill both his creatures and my Skaab. Second main phase, I bring back Skaab, pitching double amalgam. He comments here that it looks like I kept a pretty slow hand. Lightning Axe Hierarch on his end phase, discarding Stitchwing. He got flooded one game, I whiffed on my turn 2 dredge. Games one and two were just normal back and forths. Game three I had removal for blighted agent, and blockers for everything else.īoth of the game wins in this match were with rites on the hoof. Game two, he gets me with become immense because amalgam enters tapped, and I didn't get a third turn to play stinky. Starting on turn 3, I cast Stinkweed every turn until he had no creatures left. Game one, I hard cast Narcomeba on turn two to chump listener elf. I get the last turn, draw down to 1 card in deck, and pass the turn for the match win. I block one of the knights, and cast+flashback that gnaw to live at 4 life. On turn 3, I draw my last Gnaw, have 2 cards left in deck, and pass the turn. ![]() Much of this has been happening in extra turns. His next turn, he alphas and I block a knight with the troll. Unfortunately, this leaves my board with nothing but that Grave-Troll and ghasts that can't block. He was so focused on getting over the troll). I throw everything in front of the ooze when he attacks, killing it (turns out he made a huge mistake and just forgot my other creatures could block. On his first turn with Scooze, I play and flashback a gnaw to the bone, putting me in the mid-30s for life. He finally draws Scooze, and gets it up to something like 20 power via eating creatures, exalted triggers, and kessig pumps. We just keep going back and forth, neither able to get anything more than chip-shots in for.some ungodly number of turns. His 3 8/8 Knights of the Reliquary, Tarmogoyf, Thrun, and assorted mana dorks to my 4 Bloodghast, 3 Amalgam, Stitchwing Skaab, 2 Narcomeba, and 13/13 Grave-Troll. Game 2 was the grindiest of ground stalls. Game one was pretty simple because he didn't have Scooze and I had a good draw with multiple creatures coming out turn 2. Games 2 and 3, I manage to get blockers out and he doesn't find Blighted Agents. Game one, he is on the play, hits me for 9 Infect on his turn two, and I just scoop before he knows what I'm playing because I can't get a blocker out. I ended up going 5-0-1, taking the intentional draw round 6 so we got 1st and 2nd. However, this week, I had a side board, I added an extra land, and I wasn't making as many stupid mistakes or keeping hands as greedy as I did the first time around. Needless to say, no sideboard + multiple play mistakes due to a new deck means I did pretty badly. I put this together last week, but I didn't have anything besides claims and grudges to side in, due to finishinv up the main deck as pairings were called. This is my take on Dredge in Modern (AKA "The Greyjoy Special" because "What is Dead may never die") So, I decided to put together modern dredge with some of my sweet sweet judge comp from GPLA. ![]() Deck Primers Top Tier Thursday Archive Deck-Specific Subreddits Try to do some metagame testing to get a feel for your deck so you can talk about it better.
